What we do

Our business to business training, office and website audits alongside corporate sponsorship allow us to redistribute our profits as a social enterprise to provide opportunities for disabled children and their families to access community activities.

Commercial training

Xtra Potential provide training to organisations to be more aware of the types of disabilities that exist and the actions they can take to become advocates. Additionally, we deliver training on how to become disability confident employers and carry out workplace audits. Our audits include reviewing working environments, websites, marketing material and policies and procedures.

We aim to make the working world inclusive by helping create accessible working environments, so people can reach their Xtra Potential. Contact our commercial team for more information on our training and audit services.

We have built a rewarding partnership with Xtra Potential to deliver inclusive, supportive, and safe therapeutic open water swims with our big, lovable, and friendly Newfoundland dogs. The work Tracey and the team do raise funds to provide access to unique activities and services for disabled children and their families – is incredible! The time and effort the team put into organising swim days shone through on the faces of the children and their families. I was impressed by the sheer level of energy, enthusiasm, positivity. I’m sure the impact this has had on all involved will last for a long time.
Pete Lewin, Founder of Newfoundlands
Xtra Potential delivered an engaging and enlightening Disability Awareness Training session that helped the team have open conversations around inclusion. We have a better understanding of the steps we can take to create an inclusive workplace; and more knowledge on how we can be disability advocates in our community. I would recommend Xtra Potential’s training services; the content was valuable, and the delivery made it an enjoyable learning experience – thank you, Xtra Potential.
Sam, Mortgage Advisor & Founder for Mindful Mortgages
I think all organisations should have Xtra Potential complete an office audit! The process from start to finish was invaluable! We now know how to ensure that a new employee, a full-time wheelchair user, can get around the office when they arrive, rather than issues found and resolved as she goes along. The customer service we have received has been impeccable. Individuals can find disability and inclusion a difficult topic to discuss, however, Tracey and the team made sure that we were comfortable and educated throughout the journey of working together.

Information and support services

We work with other organisations that can provide specialist advice to aid parents and carers to get the information, advice, and guidance they need.

We also have our own community, where parents and carers can connect and meet with other families to share experiences, make friends, and have some fun. Our community is full of positivity, and we understand how challenging it can be living outside a society and system designed to exclude those with disabilities. However, our community comes together to create a powerful and positive force for change. We give each other encouragement, support one another, and champion change.

A benefit of our community is that you can access Xtrapotentialers; parents whose children have a range of physical and mental disabilities who are uniquely placed to support other parents. Additionally, we have evidence-based training courses for parents needing further information or strategies to support their child or young person. We also provide guidance, advice, and information on local services and signpost to relevant outside agencies.

We need your support to make a difference in the lives of children living with disabilities. We’ve seen first-hand the difference that an electronic talker has for a child who can’t speak, the growth of a child when they have access to the right development activities, and the respite to parents and carers when they have access to specialist wrap-around care. Your support can change the lives of disabled children and their families, helping us create a world where every child is included.

Our grant work enables us to run developmental activities, workshops, and training. Being part of our community will give you the first chance to apply for grant-funded activities.

Xtra Potential want to change the lives of children living with disabilities and their families. To do this, we apply for grant funding to invest in much-needed support services and activities. To apply for one of our activities, please visit our Get Involved page.

Corporate sponsorship

If our work resonates with your organisation’s values and corporate and social responsibilities, then we’d love to hear from you. We would value being your nominated social enterprise, raising funds for our services to create a world where every child is included.

Corporate sponsorship doesn’t have to be financial

We value pro-bono support, this could be staff volunteer days, or access to your products or services, allowing disabled children and their families to reach their Xtra Potential. Your teams could organise a bespoke event, whether that’s a summer BBQ, white water rafting or a bake-off.

We want to make change happen.

We want every child to be included in society, and to achieve this we need to change laws and policy. We are committed to supporting parents, carers, and children with disabilities, to speak about the real issues and drive change at a local and national level – we will do this by partnering with other organisations to amplify our voice and make some noise! Our fundraising activities, corporate sponsorship, and grants will support our regional and national campaigns. Get involved in our campaign, share your story.
